Gabriela del Carmen Alcanta

Gabriela is an international trade and arbitration lawyer with experience working with the public and private sectors in Mexico and Europe on various trade matters. Gabriela is a former government official. She participated, amongst others, in the negotiation of free trade agreements, international dispute resolution, the implementation of commercial commitments, and human rights and investment. She has also worked at the WTO with the Sanitary and Phytosanitary team in the Agriculture and Commodities Division.

Gabriela holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla and an LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) from the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute of Development Studies. She is a Mexican-qualified lawyer.
