Sunayana Sasmal is a trade lawyer and researcher from India. She earned her undergraduate law degree from National Law University, Jodhpur in India in 2018 and her LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 2022. She has interned at the Legal Affairs Division of the WTO and has served as a postdoctoral research scholar with the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment, and as a consultant with the World Bank. Before that, she worked for three years with the Indian Government’s trade advisory think-tank, the Centre for WTO Studies, where she worked primarily on services trade, e-commerce and fisheries subsidies. Trade, climate and sustainability interlinkages have been her predominant interests in the recent past
