Deep and Comprehensive Trade Agreements for Improving Indonesia’s Integration with Global Markets
Lecture Series co-organised by Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, ASEAN, and the World Bank
Colette van der Ven presented TULIP’s benchmarking studies on Indonesia’s preferential trade and investment agreements as part of this Lecture Series, convened to support Indonesia’s integration with global markets through deeper trade agreements.
Her presentation examined how Indonesia’s commitments compare to those of regional peers and to leading “best practice” agreements across sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures, technical barriers to trade (TBT), and investment, identifying concrete areas where Indonesia could deepen its commitments in future negotiations.
This work informed TULIP’s subsequent contribution to the World Bank Deep Trade Agreements: A Toolkit for Policymakers and Practitioners.
