EU-India clean tech cooperation: Opportunities for shared industrial competitiveness

TULIP Consulting had the pleasure of participating in a timely discussion on EU-India cooperation on clean technology and trade, organized by ECDPM and the Embassy of India to Belgium.

Building on the momentum generated by the conclusion of the EU-India FTA, the panel focused on concrete opportunities to leverage platforms, such as the EU-India Trade and Technology Council or the Clean Energy and Climate Partnership, to strengthen cooperation on clean tech between the two blocs.

Reflecting on new TULIP research, Director Colette van der Ven highlighted the need to scale up EU-India collaboration in steel decarbonization by creating strategic opportunities for technology co-development and ensuring the technology’s suitability to the Indian context/resource profile.

As was discussed by other panellists, India’s potential association with Horizon Europe could be a critical step toward creating concrete win-win opportunities for clean-tech cooperation.
