Re-envisioning international cooperation through new partnership approaches: a focus on clean technology
As global trade dynamics shift, economic security concerns intensify and the urgency for industrial decarbonisation accelerates, strategic partnerships are becoming essential for sustainable international cooperation.
Selected as part of the inaugural Curated Conversations series – hosted by the Geneva Trade Platform in partnership with the World Trade Organization (WTO) – this roundtable will bring together senior policymakers, private sector leaders and trade experts to discuss how a new generation of green trade partnerships, bilateral agreements and cooperation frameworks can support clean technology value chain integration . Discussions will focus on aligning trade and industrial policy objectives with climate goals, mobilising private investment and enabling open and inclusive supply chain integration.
By leveraging distinct green comparative advantages – ranging from low-cost manufacturing and renewable energy resources to cutting-edge technological innovation and capital deployment – strategic partnerships can help build resilient, integrated clean technology value chains while avoiding market fragmentation and limiting the risk of green protectionism.
